What do you do?

I visited several churches over time, you will know which one is right for you when you are there. Sometimes you are at a church for a season, because that’s where God wants you to be at that specific point in time. The community of people, worship and how you feel… pray on this before you go.

I attend in house church when I can, but if I can’t, I also have ‘go-to’ online churches all over the planet too. My in house church home has a YouTube livestream where you can watch back previous sermons, but also podcasts on Spotify for the teaching moments. If this is something important to you, then ask when you attend what they have.

It was highlighted massively when I was working on the media team in the church via the feedback from the neurospicy brothers and sisters there are days when sometimes they just cannot be in the building, I don’t ask why, but all I know is that I fed back that important information to the church.

I’m fully of the belief that if God needs you to hear something, it will come, no matter where from (remember he used a donkey in the bible). Sadly there are some that don’t see or accept this because they are either no ‘neurospicy’ or see it as an inferior connection with God because it’s on a screen. I don’t let that get to me, because ultimately this is the pathway God has taken me on personally, and it’s between us. Sad but true, if you are like me and believe that God is with us in all things, it’s perfectly acceptable to worship at home in the same way you worship in the building. Especially if you are having a bad day and cannot cope with being around other people, who will distract you from that beautiful one to one time with Jesus.

I also make use of UCB Word for Today (available in print and online) which I have been reading daily (well most days because I’m not perfect, none of us are) for the last 24 years. Some days I just take the message as it is, but some days I dig deeper into the verse that it’s pointing to with my study bible. Totally depends on the time available. I also listen to audio bible apps like Bible.is, Abide (Christian Meditation), Angel Studios, YouVersion Bible etc.

Just like your relationship with Jesus, it’s personal, and personally tailored to you on your personal journey. We are all parts of the body of Christ, with different personalities, skills and compassion. What works for someone may not be what works for someone else…
