It’s important to read the full verse in context!

WORD…
9 “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

Mark 13: 9-11

When reading God’s word it is ALWAYS important to read and understand the WHOLE verse. Sometimes God draws your attention to the full verse using a part of it (in my experience) so it needs to be in full context and you may miss an important message in that full verse that you need to read.

Think of it like using a piece of equipment that is complexed without reading the full instruction manual before using the device. Yes, we all know someone who ain’t got time to read the instructions, will just work it out 😂, or walks straight into a record deal without reading or understanding the contract fully.

PLEASE don’t just cherrypick verses to suit your selfish and self centred needs, and definitely “DO NOT use the bible as a weapon to hurt others” (to quote Pastor Bob Beeman in one of his coffee breaks recently) because the enemy knows the bible too (and better than any of us so don’t be fooled!) and often operates like this.

There are several examples in history where the bible and man made religion was used to control, steal, destroy and kill people. And don’t think it was just things that happened in history. This practice continues to this day, you only have to look closely at some of the ‘religions’ that use their label to claim stuff that doesn’t belong to them, but claim that God said it’s theirs.

Watch out for those man made religions for sure! if Jesus and love is not at the front and centre of all the teaching, then start to ask yourself why. If the instructions and teaching tells you that it’s acceptable to kill someone, you need to walk away and don’t stop, and don’t look back. Voting with your feet is the way you destroy a business that has dubious business practices, the same applies to man made religion.

Hey I’m no expert trust me, only God knows. This is just my opinion based on walking with Jesus for 24 years, asking questions, and challenging everything. Until I’m straight in my mind I don’t believe it to be 100% true until I’ve done that, only a fool would believe everything that one person says, without asking others and doing research. That’s how cults work by the way. You can be manipulated and brain washed if you are continually told the same thing over and over. It’s also a tool in the narcissists toolbox.

So, PLEASE when you get a verse quoted, check it against the full verse, in full context or you may miss an important message in the full verse that you need to read.

Therefore recommend you read the full verse Mark 13 today

Have a wonderful day!! Peace love and blessings to you wherever you are in the world.

Congratulations, you’ve made it to the end of this long post. If you did please give the post a thumbs up, share, and then comment underneath with the word shared ❤

ps, if you’re like me, and don’t have time to sit and read, there are some great bible apps and videos on youtube that you can listen to while doing other things. But take note, multitasking does not work! In some menial things you can do it, but if it’s something that requires full attention you need to pay it that. Switch tasking in your brain…. Google it.

So I recommend getting a cuppa, turning off the screens (unless you are watching it on youtube to listen) and taking the time to listen to the full verse of Matthew 13 because there’s some real important stuff in there we all need to know in the body of Christ. I close my eyes when I need to do this so that there is nothing that can distract my brain.
